Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great By: Judy Blume (4)

Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great is a book about a girl named Sheila Tubman who is 10 and going into 5th grade that is scared of some things, like dogs, spiders, and swimming. Sheila has to face all her fears this Summer. The house she is staying in this Summer belongs to the Ergans who have two boys. Sheila sleeps in Bobbie's room. Bobby left her a note that said if you break any of my models "I'll get you some day!"

Sheila's sister Libby loves ballet! She is thirteen years old and is never very nice to Sheila. Libby loves dogs SO much, and we know that Sheila does not!

Sheila meet someone named mouse and soon they became best friends! Sheila also meets the twins Jane and Sondra! The four girls have a party and get mad at each other so they start throwing Bobbie's models everywhere! That means that they have to fix them-so they do! Also Mouse, Jane Sondra and Sheila all go to camp over the Summer-pottery camp! For one week Sheila runs the newspaper and notices the it is very tricky!

Sheila has to face her fear of swimming, her swim teacher Marty is very nice and helps her! Then at the end Sheila has to take the swim test-she is a little scared, but she makes it by swimming across the deep end and treading water for two whole minutes!!!

Another fear Sheila has to face is being afraid of dogs. At the house she is staying in there is a dog (jennifer) that is going to have puppies soon Sheila and her family get to keep one puppy too, but Sheila is anything but excited!

The last fear she has to face is spiders. One night there was a giant spider above her bed so she had to get her parents to come and get it!

This book is a great book about people facing their fears and I really enjoy it!
